Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 June 2026

These Terms govern your use of CrescoDB — the command-line tool, the admin dashboard, the hosted account platform, the AI features, and the module registry (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

CrescoDB gives you a local-first developer backend: a database, an auto-generated REST API, auth with roles, an admin dashboard, AI assistance, and a package registry. Local development (init, dev, the auto API, free modules) works offline without an account. A CrescoDB account unlocks hosted features — the AI coding agent, publishing, private modules, cloud backups, and shared projects.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You're responsible for activity under your account.
  • You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country).
  • You may sign in with email/password or with GitHub/Google.

3. Plans & billing

  • Local development is free forever. Paid plans (Pro, Team, Enterprise) unlock the AI coding agent, higher limits, publishing, the private registry, and team features.
  • Pricing: Free $0 · Pro $23/mo · Team $65/seat/mo · Enterprise $499/mo. Prices may be shown in USD or NGN.
  • Payments are processed by Paystack (Naira) and Flutterwave (international). Subscriptions renew for the period you select until cancelled.
  • Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • We don't advertise "unlimited." AI-backed features are subject to fair-use limits appropriate to your plan, which we may adjust to keep the Service sustainable.

4. Your content & data

You own your code, schemas, and databases. We claim no ownership of them. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the Service for you — for example, to transmit your AI prompts to our model providers to return a result, to store cloud backups you upload, and to deliver shared projects to teammates you authorize. Your local files and databases stay on your machine unless you use a hosted feature.

5. AI features

  • The AI assistant and coding agent run on our model-provider keys. Output is generated by third-party models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or insecure — review it before relying on it, especially code that writes files or runs commands.
  • The coding agent can read and write files in your project and run terminal commands you approve. You're responsible for what you approve.
  • Don't submit secrets or sensitive personal data in prompts. Don't use the AI features to violate any law or third-party right.

6. The module registry

  • When you publish a module, you confirm you have the right to share it and you grant other entitled users the right to install and use it through CrescoDB.
  • You're responsible for the code you publish. Don't publish malware, infringing content, or anything unlawful.
  • Installing a module runs third-party code in your project. Review modules before installing; we don't guarantee third-party modules.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: break the law; infringe others' rights; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts; probe, scan, or overload our infrastructure; resell or abuse the AI features (including circumventing usage limits); or use the Service to build a directly competing service from our proprietary components.

8. Teams & shared projects

Org owners/admins control membership and what's shared. Sharing a project shares its schema and the connection details you provide; anyone you grant access to can open it. Only share databases you're authorized to share, and remove members promptly when access should end.

9. Service availability

We work to keep the hosted platform available but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. Local development continues to work offline regardless of platform availability.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service or AI output will be error-free or meet your requirements. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CrescoDB will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use hosted features ends; your local projects remain yours and untouched.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, give notice in the product or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts located there have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise.
